Links to Learning (L2L), is facilitated by the Business Enterprise Centre in Queanbeyan and enables students to get out of the classroom and into situations where they can learn practical skills. Program leader Paul Malcolm is one of eight facilitators in the Links to Learning program and has been working with these students for 12 months.
The L2L students started their project at Braidwood Community Garden by removing weeds from overgrown beds, and mulching and preparing the beds for plants. Their final session, last Wednesday, was planting out seedlings in the beds, and two small mountain pepper trees which will grow near the creek.
Secretary of Braidwood Urban Landcare Group, which manages the community garden, Annie Duke, and Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Coordinator, Bec Klomp, were on hand to assist the planting. Claire from Bunyip Jungle generously donated the seedlings, while QPRC provided the compost and mulch.
