On top of the finals, our clubs are preparing for end of season celebrations, charity games and more.
While their seasons are wrapping up, the NSW Government’s focus on sport is ramping up.
Over the past few weeks, Queanbeyan has seen some incredible announcements.
Just recently, I was thrilled to announce $1.2 million to upgrade the Queanbeyan Golf Club and Course. The project will give the entire course a much-needed upgrade, with all players set to benefit.
The Queanbeyan Roos and the Queanbeyan Whites have both received a post-season boost, with exciting funding announcements focused on improving female involvement in the clubs.
To finish off a great season for the Roos Club, the NSW Government has announced funding for the installation of brand new lights at Freebody Oval 2, which will allow for more Friday night games, particularly boosting the club’s under 16s and women’s competitions.
The Queanbeyan Whites are the happy recipients of funding for a brand new change room, ref’s area and gym, as well as an upgrade to the existing canteen. The new building will give female teams a top-notch change room during home games, and will provide space for a fantastic new training facility, with a focus on strength and conditioning training.
Congratulations to our clubs on a fantastic winter season. I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings.
