Last week at the Servicemen’s Club AGM, former president of the Board, Robert Richardson, stepped down. David Goddard was elected president with Barry Osmond as vice-president.
Mr Richardson’s report highlighted the club’s trading surplus for the year of almost $130,000. In the past year capital works have been carried out to improve water storage and the club building has been re-roofed. Mr Richardson also extended thanks to the secretary-manager and staff of the club, as well as the team of volunteers who maintain the golf course and bowling green and keep the club grounds in great order.
The new Board of the Servicemen’s Club is David Goddard (pres), Barry Osmond (vice-pres) with directors Rob Richardson, Aaron Clarke, Rachel Waddington, Karen Hansby and Michael Toirkens.
Also holding its AGM in the past week was the Two Fires Festival Inc. With the next festival in the planning stage for next April, there were no changes in the executive, with Julia Green remaining as president and Troy Wasson as vice-president, along with Robin Tennant-Wood (secretary), Janene Collins (treasurer) and Trish Sargeson and Roderic Pitty as committee members.
Several successful fundraisers have been held during the year and Ms Green noted that the Festival program was well on the way to final draft and should be finalised by the end of the year.
