"The Two Fires Festival honours the life and legacy of one of Australia's most loved poets, Judith Wright," says event secretary and Braidwood Times journalist Robin Tennant-Wood.
"She was a tireless advocate for environment and Indigenous rights as well as a lifelong supporter of the arts in this country. The Two Fires reference comes from her poem, The Two Fires."
Conceived to be held biennially, the festival "is a weekend of informative talks, fun, art, markets, and music."
You can start enjoying the event from Friday April 5 by visiting the local art exhibitions, and then you could book yourselves in for a dinner with poetry and song.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled to start at 9am on Saturday April 6, led by Uncle Max Harrison, a Walbanga Elder.
The exhibitions and experiences will carry through to the afternoon of Sunday April 7, with an official closing ceremony the final item on the program.

"The theme for this year's festival is Food, Health and Healing the Land," adds Ms Tennant-Wood.
"There will be a panel discussion on Emerging Wisdom in Landcare featuring a number of local farmers and producers who are working with sustainable land management techniques, and Sunday's activities will include a tour - in collaboration with Upper Shoalhaven Landcare - of some local sustainable and organic farms."
The event was founded in 2005 to carry on Judith Wright's two main passions of art and activism.
"The Judith Wright address will be delivered by Canberra-based historian, Humphrey McQueen, who will speak about Wright's enduring legacy."
On Saturday afternoon there will be a session involving students from Braidwood Central School along with the Friends of Mongarlowe River called Protecting the Places we Love.
"MC for this session is much-loved Braidwood author and poet, Harry Laing, whose new book has just been launched."
Then "Saturday night will see Smokey Horse come alive to an evening of Fired Up poetry and song, featuring local and interstate musicians, including Nausicaa from Brisbane, Charlie McMahon and Braidwood's own duo Jake and Ange."
Grab this week's edition (March 27) of the Braidwood Times for a special 4-page feature wrap previewing the event, inclusive of a map and the program's schedule.
