The Braidwood Quilters would like the event to be the biggest one yet, but they need help. Without additional support the quilters do not have the resources to keep the tradition going. The club states that during the weekend of the event thousands of visitors are attracted to the town which receives around a million dollars in additional revenue.
Secretary Diane Challen stressed the importance of volunteers.
"It would be a great shame if this event did not take place in future years but without additional support Braidwood Quilters cannot continue to host it," Ms Challen said.
Volunteers do not need to be able to sew.
Tasks that require a broad range of skills, including advertising and organisation, need to be performed.
The Braidwood Quilters ask that If you have a few hours to spare over the coming months, please lend a hand.
