The Bungendore area issued 592 and Queanbeyan 3600.
On average 8323 Australians applied for a passport each business day.
This equates to a passport being issued every three seconds.
2,091,801 passports were issued in total which is 38 per cent more than 10 years ago.
14,438,972 Australians had a passport which amounts to 57 per cent of the population.
The top country for lost and stolen passports was Australia.
41,448 Australian passports were reported lost or stolen last year.
