Bumper-to-bumper in Braidwood

The traditional Braidwood end to the Easter break is in full swing with the predictable traffic snarls leading into town from the east. Perfect autumn weekend weather has made the coast and local camping spots prime destinations for the short break.

In the Visitors Information Centre this afternoon, Chris Watkins said that the traffic started building up around mid-morning and had been consistently heavy since then. Another local said that it was as bad yesterday, with Wallace Street at times looking like a car park.

It's not all bad, of course, with many local businesses doing brisk trade as travellers stop to escape the traffic.
