It has been a mixed season for the Division Three women thus far, who now sit at sixth on the ladder with one win, one draw, and four losses.
However, the team would always have fancied its chances against Narrabundah, who are at the bottom of the ladder and have lost all of their seven matches this year.
The match was hard fought, and both teams were still in it at half time when Palerang went into the sheds with a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, the gap was widened and Palerang claimed a two-goal lead, which they maintained until the end of the match.
Honours were shared between the Palerang players, with Abby Birkett, Georgia Garcia, Emily Hanns, Sabine Osarek all recording one goal each.
The win sets Palerang up with confidence ahead of this weekend's clash against O'Connor Knights SC. The Knights are the top-ranked team on the ladder and have won all of their matches in 2019, which makes them formidable opponents for any team.
If Palerang are to have a chance, the confidence boost from their first win may prove crucial.
Meanwhile, the Palerang United Division Five women continued their run of good form with a 4-0 win over Woden Valley FC on Sunday.
The victory was a fitting comeback after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Belwest the week before, and it sees Palerang climb to sixth on the ladder. This leaves the team well-positioned to make a run at the top four in the latter half of the competition.
The Palerang United Division Four men's team was the only side unable to claim victory on the weekend, as they fell to a close 3-1 defeat against Belsouth on Saturday.
The men have had an indifferent run throughout the season, and one win, two draws, and a loss sees them at 10th on the ladder.
This weekend, the Division Four men will play Belwest SC White, and will be hopeful of a win over their lower-ranked opponents.
