In a fantastic opportunity to show case country rugby union the Redbacks plan to "put it to Yass" in a game that will have double points on offer due to the postponement of the round one clash.
Coach Anthony Hayes believe this will be a great opportunity for "city folk" to experience the raw toughness and natural talent on show in this one team town country rugby competition.
Braidwood come into the game after a two week break with Yass last week suffering a loss to the Crookwell Dogs.
Over the long weekend a number of Redbacks players were involved in the country rugby representative round, where our lads, playing for the far South Coast put in some memorable performances.
Congratulations go to Riley Turner and Justin Dariol for selection in the Brumbies Provincial Team and Sam Northcott as a shadow player.
This was a great moment for Sam whose father, Steve, was a past Redback player and coach, and represented the far South Coast some 16 years earlier.
It is expected that both the Redbacks and the Rams will be fielding strong line ups for the GIO Stadium showdown.
The Braidwood squad will leave the Serviceman's Club at 2:30pm Saturday afternoon on the Braidwood Central School bus for the trek to GIO Stadium.
After the mandatory McDonalds stop the team will arrive at GIO stadium and prepare for the game in the changing rooms that have house many former and current Wallabies such as Stephen Larkham, George Gregan and George Smith.
The Redbacks will then run out onto the hallowed GIO Stadium turf, a football ground that has seen many famous footy games and memorable moments from both the Brumbies and the Canberra Raiders.
The Redbacks would love a strong local crowd to cheer them on at GIO Stadium, so get into Canberra Saturday afternoon to experience two quality rugby matches.
The Redbacks kick off at 5:30pm with the Brumbies to play the Sharks at 8:05pm.
