Braidwood locals, Brendon and Kelly McGrath, owners of Braidwood Auto Electrics, have just recently completed their fourth year in business.
They are very grateful for all the continued support that they have had from everyone and look forward to another busy year.
They currently employ four locals including an apprentice Robbie who is now currently completing his third year of his apprenticeship. Brendon, who has been in the trade for over 30 years, offers a mobile service along with a fully equipped workshop. They work on anything from lawnmowers to earthmoving machinery.
In addition to general auto electrical maintenance, repair and diagnostic work both in the workshop and mobile service - which they offer for private, and commercial road users, school bus and coach companies, farm machinery, earthmoving operators and the mining and logging industry - they also find themselves adding all sorts of other accessories.
Being that we live in the country something they do that you probably wouldn't expect from many suburban auto sparkies is they supply and fit bullbars, towbars and the electronic ShuRoo.
Brendon also tells us communication devices are still very important here in everything from road and recreational vehicles to farm and work site machinery. Braidwood Auto Electrics supplies and fits a wide range of UHFs and aerials to suit your needs along with mobile phone car kits with wireless charging cradles to suit all types of phones.

Automotive air-conditioning is a must in motor vehicles in the summer and Braidwood Auto Electrics offers full service and repairs on all vehicle air conditioning. Brendon recommends that motor vehicle air-conditioners should be serviced about every two years.
Campers and caravans can become fairly self-sufficient when given a decent amount of auxiliary battery storage. One of the more popular ways is to have a dual-battery system fitted to your vehicles with a good deep-cycle battery. Brendon says there's some pretty good solar hardware as well that can keep up with the demand of a fridge and other luxuries that you may like to have on board.
For your safety when towing, and to help you satisfy legal requirements, they can fit your towing vehicle with a Redarc Tow Pro Elite V3 Electric Brake Unit and Breakaway system.
Off-roaders meanwhile like to have an electric winch to help get them - or a mate -out of a sticky situation and a snorkel so they can go through those water holes while four wheel driving. Braidwood Auto Electrics can supply and fit both these items, along with many other 4WD accessories.
They also supply and fit a large range of LED driving lights and lightbars to suit all vehicles, not only 4WDs but small vehicles as well.
