A report has revealed that 27 men and nine women committed suicide in the Queanbeyan Palerang area from 2013 to 2017.
The deaths in Australia report was released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare on July 17.
In the top 20 causes of death in the region suicide was number seven for males and 19 for females.
The leading cause of death in Queanbeyan Palerang from 2013 to 2017 was coronary heart disease.
This was followed by lung cancer in males and cerebrovascular disease in females.
The average age of death for males was 75 and 81 for females in 2017.
The number of deaths in the Queanbeyan Palerang area has increased from 275 in 2013 to 306 in 2017.
