A team of ten Year Nine and Year 10 girls from the school performed admirably, according to BCS teacher Hayley Quill.
"In their pool, they came third, which meant they played the third-placed team from the other pool," Quill said.
"They did well for themselves."
The BCS team qualified for the finals in a tournament held earlier in the year, which they won.
The girls won their match against their correspondingly-ranked opponents from the opposite pool in the finals, and Quill said that the result is evidence of their skill development.
"We've got a few girls that travel out to Canberra to play," she said.
"They've come really far, they're doing really well."
The girls' progression is more impressive due to the fact that they only began playing "two or three" years ago, Quill said.
"The girls really got into it when the Braidwood women's team was formed, they got inspired by that," she said.
"We had Charlotte Caslick, who's one of the Australian women's sevens players, come to Braidwood and do a big talk. The girls have been gee'd up ever since then."
In Canberra, the Braidwood girls played against teams from Narooma, Goulburn, and Murrumbidgee, and Quill said that the experience that they gained from the day will be invaluable.
In order to continue the team's improvement, Quill hopes to send some of the players to development camps in Canberra.
The ultimate goal for Quill, which she knows will take some time to achieve, is to establish a girls' rugby union team in Braidwood.
"I'd love to see a girls' team start up here," Quill said.
"[We just need to] continue training. At the moment, enthusiasm's a big thing, they're all getting to that Year Nine, 10 stage ... I have lost a couple of them [to other interests].
"But that's just what happens. If we can keep some of them motivated and still into it, that'd be fantastic."
