The aim of the day, which is run by the Braidwood Apex Club, is to raise money for the local RSL sub-branch.
With more than a week to go until the competition takes place on Saturday, November 9, the attendance list is already full.
"It sort of fell away a few years ago, but last year we filled it again and it's full this year," Watson said.
"[With 72 players attending, there will be] two teams of four on every hole."
In 2018, the Apex Club contributed $1,500 to the sub-branch, and this year Watson is confident that they will be able to donate even more.
This, he explained, is due to the support of businesses both local and from around southern NSW who have committed both prizes and teams to the competition.
Players not only from Braidwood, but Goulburn, Mudgee, Orange, Canberra, and Sydney will compete.
There will be a wide variety of playing talent in attendance on the day. Watson said that there are often players with little experience who take part, but there are also a number of experienced veterans who attend every year.
"There's some bloody good golfers, [who play]," Watson said.
"The guys who come down from Sydney, they've been coming for 20 years and they play two or three days a week."
Watson said that it was not uncommon for competitors to balk at the $80 playing fee, but as it includes green fees, breakfast, lunch, and beverages, most realise that it is great value for money.
The Diggers Day will take place on Saturday, November 9. Registration will begin at 8.15am with tee-off at 9am. For more information about the event, contact Tom Watson on 0488 143 400.
