It is indeed a painting for the ages. Well, if not the ages, the past two years, at least.

And it's won perhaps the most broadly appreciated of all artistic gongs - the Archibald Prize People's Choice award.
Titled The Sea Within, Julia Ciccarone's self-portrait is eminently relatable. She has painted herself lying on her studio floor, paintbrushes in hand, before a wall of cresting waves are about to engulf all in its path.
Put yourself in the frame - would you have earbuds in? A book by your side, maybe your phone or a tub of half-melted ice-cream?
It's unlikely too many state premier would be painted clasping a photo of Gladys Bereijklian to their chest if they were to recreate Ms Ciccarone's image today.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was unimpressed by the NSW truckie who tested positive for COVID-19 after crossing state lines.
A feisty WA Premier Mark McGowan didn't miss too many eastern-staters when he declared WA won't remove its border closures until more than 80 per cent of the population has been vaccinated. Thank you very much.
"We had a High Court challenge last year and we won, easily, against Clive Palmer and the Liberal Party," Mr McGowan said. "If they want to bring on round two, let them."
Speaking of court, a legal challenge to mandatory COVID-19 vaccine requirements for some NSW workers has been launched in the state's highest court, as virus infections continue to climb by more than a thousand cases a day.

In a post to a social media website, Mr Nikolic praised political luminaries like Craig Kelly, Reverend Fred Nile and Pauline Hanson for their opposition to mandatory vaccinations and lockdowns.
Hang on, there was good news - for the good people of Tamworth, in particular. A walk-up vaccination hub, no appointment necessary, will open in the country music capital later this month. Yee-hah, roll-up your sleeve and pass me a Band-Aid!
And if that's not enough, let us expand your pandemic vocabulary. Heard of maskne? No, me either. All is revealed in the first link below.
