The Cancer Council had a Daffodil Day site at the Braidwood Bakery as part of the effort to try and raise $3.2 million in NSW ($9.7 million nationally). The funds go towards research, prevention, advocacy programs and support services. Over 5,000 volunteers across NSW will sell Cancer Council pins on the day at over 600 sites.
One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age 85. In NSW, it is predicted that 45,245 people will be diagnosed with cancer and 14,438 will die from the disease in 2016. You can still donate by calling 1300 65 65 85 or visit www.daffodilday.com.au
