Council has installed solar panels on the roof of the Braidwood Library. The system installed is a grid connected 8.5KW system. It comprises 34 x 250W panels that were installed on the north side of the Library roof. It has also the capacity to be upgraded in future to a 20KW system with the addition of extra panels.

The system provides an estimated offset of 43% of the Council & Library building's energy consumption and simple payback period is four and a half years based on the outright contract price. The cost was $21,821 ex GST.
