Funding to the tune of $12,413 will be provided under the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program.
“This Government acknowledges the valuable work that this radio station does to inform the local community,” said Mr Barilaro.
“The money will be used to relocate the Braidwood Community Radio studios to the grounds of the Braidwood Services Club due to the current premises being unsuitable for continued use.
“The new building will consist of two studios, one for broadcasting, one for production and training and include facilities for presenters, volunteers and guests include a kitchenette, a ramp and wider doorway access for the physically impaired and for wheelchairs, facilities that we do not currently have.
“I’m pleased that the NSW Government saw fit to financially support this important community organisation.”
“There was strong competition for the available funds and a high level of interest from the community with thousands of applications received across the state in total,” said Mr Barilaro. “Local construction jobs and businesses will benefit from the activity as this community infrastructure is upgraded.”
