Around 200 people crowded under the Hotel’s annex for the launch when drenching weather closed in, pounding on the metal roof and making it hard to hear the speakers.
Carrying on with good humour, Noel Wisbey addressed the crowd about old Araluen (see address on this page) and Chris Woodland, who has collected the old Valley family photos and anecdotes over 30 years for this book, spoke and played a few numbers on a small hand organ.
The book was produced by the Braidwood Historical Society and edited by Paris and Reg Sylvester and Ros Maddrell and numerous other volunteers, with sponsorship from the Braidwood Community Bank.
