Many thanks to everyone who helped out last weekend in hosting the Brindabella Shield. To Les Mundy, as usual; Murray Smith and Mike Fitzgerald, who were both at the Club very early Sunday morning in a real 'pea-souper' to mow the greens and mark the GUR; thanks guys for making the course look as good as it did the weekend before! To the Pennants Ladies, and a couple of extras, who cooked up a storm for morning tea and, especially, Bec Bloomfield for a simply magnificent plate of sandwiches: well done all!
As for the golf: Moss Vale defeated Murrumbidgee and Yowani defeated Royal Canberra. Comments from the ladies, both in person and on our Facebook page, were particularly complimentary, although one of the RC ladies apparently had had a sleepless night after her husband told her we had sand greens! We need to keep going with our 'message' it seems!
With Anzac Day fast approaching, a reminder we are looking for a whole of Golf Club, men and ladies, exercise as we cater for 200 at the Club after the morning's service in town. Help is needed PLEASE to: separate the pre-cooked meat, make gravy, boil potato chats, make salads and set up the hall on the previous Thursday. We will also need a number of people on hand on Anzac Day to serve. Proceeds will be shared between the Club and the Golf Club.
