This is the longest trip away from home for the Redbacks and with injuries and other commitments we arrived with 14 players. The game was played in the right spirit with some hard defence from both teams. With the score nil all 15 minutes in and our defence starting to tire due to covering an extra attacker Jindabyne posted first points.
As the game wore on Jindabyne proved too quick out wide and mainly ran around our lads to score. Five minutes before half time gave the Redbacks their first chance to score points through a penalty which just missed to the left. Being a player down against a full team with reserves proved too much for the Redbacks with Jindabyne running away with the game 76-0.
I have to take my hat off the boys that turned up and didn't stop trying all game. Players’ player could have been awarded to any of the 14 blokes with 8 of them fielding votes.
The award how ever went to Mr Consistent Timmy Moffit who was strong in defence and attack all day. Tim also got the 3 points for best and fairest with Simon Hopkins getting 2 points. There were 3 one points awarded to Clay Williams, Nick Roberts and Jonno Crisp who was brilliant out the back.
This weekend the Redbacks play Boorowa at Braidwood with kickoff at 2.30pm on Saturday.
