The woolshed was transformed into a colourful race day affair with balloons, flowers and horse shoe centrepieces on each table. Guests were treated to lucky ‘door’ prizes along with raffle prices galore. The frenzied bidding for not only the horses but the auction items only added to the excitement and enjoyment of the day with Cheryl Clarke purchasing the specially designed ‘Cup Day’ ring by William Verdon.
Sophie Nelson was crowned ‘best dressed lady’ amongst some tough competition, whilst Don Raper took out ‘best dressed man’ looking very dapper in his three piece suit. Best dressed couple honours went to Kathy and Michael Toikens and ‘best hat’ was won by Georgie Owen with a striking red and black fascinator.
The Foundation was overwhelmed by the support shown by those attending and the generosity of the donations from the wider community. Our sincere thanks to John Maddrell, Eddie Nomchong, William Verdon, Cheryl and Don Raper, Jackie French (once again), Muttons, Richard Murray, Landmark, Braidwood Rural, Wisbey’s Café, Pay Dirt Eatery, The Beauty Studio, The Albion Café, Keith Potger, IGA, Braidwood Newsagency and Pharmacy, Bunyip Jungle, Anthony Atkinson, Colin McLean and Vanilla Catering for making the day such a success!
