With the game starting at a fit super speed pace, it was a great start by both teams as there were little errors with a lot of good football being played.
ADFA crossed the try line first with a try that was unsuccessfully converted. Not long after Bears centre ‘Junior’, broke 4 tackles and threw a few defenders to get the Bears on the Braidwood community bank scoreboard 6-4.
With the Bears pumped after the try and a good completed set they were back down in ADFAs goal line and with some aggressive defence the Bears forced an error by ADFA and were back on the attack with Bears Jake Neddrie slimming through to cross the line with another tackle breaking run.
Half time score the Bears were up 10 - 6.
With the fast pace game continuing, the Bears were looking good with old Bear and coach Marty Edwards throwing on the boots for a run to "teach" the boys how he used to do it.
ADFA crossing in the second half first to level the score at 10-10 the big home crowd got behind our Bears and with some massive defence from second rowers Nick McArthur and Jamie Cooper the Bears were back controlling the game and with a nice back line move from Dylan Rech, Junior put fullback Sam McGlone in a hole to score in the corner for the Bears to get us in front 16-10 with Dylan Rech successful conversion.
With the siren sounding both teams were buggered after what was the Bears fastest game of the year up against our fit defence force.
The bears have a bye next week but will be back at the Braidwood rec ground on Saturday the 2nd July at 3:00pm against Harden Hawks, with Bungendore Tigerettes and Harden Hawkettes ladies league tag playing before the Bears.
