Saturday turned into a lovely day once the fog lifted for the Braidwood junior soccer Gala day with Bungendore. We saw a good turnout from Bungendore with many children attending the Gala Day, there were two under sevens teams, one under eight, one under nine and one under ten team.
All the players looked like they were enjoying the competition, many thanks to the Bungendore parents for making the effort to bring their children out to the Gala Day. There are plans in the works for another Gala Day before the end of soccer season due to the success of this one.
The day continued with the Palerang games being played throughout the afternoon with the all age men kicking off at 1:00pm, then followed by the Under 14s Palerang Pinks.
After a long break due to school holidays and a lot of wet weather the girls took to the field a little sluggish but within minutes had their full usual spark back, winning their game 6 – 0. Winning goals were scored by Lyla, Logan and Lyndsey. Next up were the under 15 boys who took on Woden Valley Roar defeating them 9 – 0,
The boys also had to play again on Sunday due to a makeup game from wet weather against Weston Molonglo winning 8 – 1. Well done boys!
The Under 12s played in Canberra against Woden Valley in their hardest game yet this season winning 4 – 1. Another successful weekend of soccer for all junior teams.
The three Palerang Junior teams are all sitting at the top of their ladders Well done guys!
