On August 10, BCS students went to Batemans Bay for the Girls League Tag Gala Day with two teams; a Year 7/8 team and a Year 9/10 team.
The Year 7/8 won winning 24-8 ahainst Batemans Bay High. Lyndsey Mendham scored four tries throughout the game. Later that day the girls played Moruya High School. It was neck and neck the entire game, but fortunately Lyla Crosbie scored a try in the final 10 seconds of the game, resulting in a draw for our Braidwood girls. Congratulations to our Year 7/8 girls who ended up in the equal first position at the conclusion of the day.
Our 9/10 girls team had some tough competition. They defended well in their first game against Moruya High, but were unfortunately defeated. Against Bateman’s Bay High, Braidwood managed to string some excellent passes together and saw Chloe Stephenson score a brilliant try. Unfortunately, we came off second best in that game too. All in all, it was a fantastic day.
