Batemans Bay Over-35s Golden Oldies team the Grande Olde Boares are now looking for new players to join up, have some fun and revisit the rugby paddock.

The Grande Olde Boares (GOBs will do) have a proud history since forming and playing their first games in 1991. We have allowed guest players to join for a game including Gordon Bray, David Campese and Owen Finnigan. The old saying "the older I get, the better I was" isn't far from the truth.
Golden Oldies Rugby is played in a safe and friendly attitude. Coloured shorts identify those who should be treated respectfully: black shorts, over-35; red shorts, over-50; gold shorts, over-60; purple shorts, over-70: do not touch, tackle, push or run. No rucking in tackles, no pushing in scrums and a player must pass after 20m.
Most of the original GOBs have continued to take the field to date, changing short colours on the way. A good opportunity welcomes anyone keen to this group to compete in the annual Tathra Crabs Carnival, October 22. Queries: 0409 470 295.
