This year an unmatched collection of treasures from the decadent court of Versailles will be coming to the National Gallery of Australia.
The displays will contrast small personal items with grand palatial artworks, including paintings, tapestries, furniture and monumental statues from the Palace of Versailles.

More than 130 paintings, intricate tapestries, gilded furniture items, monumental statues and other objects from the royal gardens, and personal items from Louis XIV to Marie Antoinette, will bring to life the reigns of three Kings, their Queens and mistresses in a fascinating and often tumultuous period of French history.
A free information session will be presented at the Braidwood Community Arts Centre on Thursday November 10, 10-11 am. Susan Conroy, Executive Director of Southern Tableland Arts says, “the information sessions are a fantastic opportunity forthe communities in our region to get insights about the artists who created the works on display and the life and times of the Versailles Court.”
Bookings can be made on the Southern Tablelands Arts website at www.starts.com.au. For booking information contact Lillie Brown on admin@starts.com.au or phone 4823 4407
