Friday night was the second night in the 2016 Barefoot Bowls Competition, sponsored by Braidwood Community Bank. Besides the 10 teams that competed last week, the Braidwood Redback’s Rugby Club fielded four teams who joined in the nights entertainment before their annual awards night. The night was beautiful summer’s evening all attendees had a lot of fun.
This week the Landmark and the Lost Team had their second wins, making their progressive scores 2+13 and 2+12. The Milky Bar Team & the CWA drew at 1.5+12 and 11 respectively, whilst the View Club and the Corby’s Crusaders had their first win, now both sitting at 1+10. Last year’s winners Braidwood Rural are yet to claim the winners pedestal this year, but it’s unwise write them off yet.
If you wish to join in this delightful sport this Friday evening, just be around the Club around 5:30pm and we will soon find a game for you.
In other bowls news, a couple of games in the 2016 mixed pairs Championships have been played in which Belinda Stuart and Andrew Moran defeated Aaron Clarke and Peta Clarke, whilst Cara Paton and Tom Watson also advanced to the next round winning over Monica Mueller and Barry Broadbent.
On the notice board is the name sheet for the Bowls Christmas party on Saturday December 17 and it would be good if those bowlers and ex-bowlers who wish to attend would put their names on the sheet, so that Gorie can order the right size pig to put on the spit.
