The Braidwood Racecourse recorded a minimum temperatures of 2.3 degrees this morning.
Temperatures have not dropped this low since the first day of November last year.
In Goulburn the mercury dropped to an icy 0.7 degrees at the airpport, while in Taralda it got down to 1.2 degrees. It was slightly hotter in Yass, which reached 2.6 degrees and in Moss Vale, 5.7 degrees.
The last time Goulburn, Taralga and Braidwood experienced such cold February mornings was in 1996. For Moss Vale it has not been that cold in February since in 2011.
The drop in temperatures on Tuesday will contrast to the heat that is forecasted for the rest of the week. Temperatures in Braidwood on Wednesday and Thursday will climb into the 30’s, with a cool change on the weekend.
