For those who missed it (and it was a big weekend in Braidwood), I would like to encourage you to see these extraordinary talented young singers when they next visit. What an experience! We are so fortunate to be able to see and hear these performances in an intimate and acoustically fine setting with none of the high ticket costs, parking problems etc that you would have to consider when in major cities.
I am told by many of the performers in the St Andrew’s Concert Series that they love the enthusiasm and responsiveness of the Braidwood audiences. Like the Cologne Philharmonia, the touring schedule for Voci Stupende will bring them into our region every two years. If this has whet your appetite for more, then come along to the baroque concert on Sunday, May 14 (perhaps as a Mother’s Day gift) at St Andrew’s Uniting Church, corner of Duncan and Monkittee streets. From 2pm Bush Baroque will be performing A Taste of Italiana with two fine sopranos: Jo Johnstone and Greta Claringbould. The tickets, a reasonable $20 each, will be on sale at the door from 1.30pm, with proceeds going to Hartley Care. And of course, afternoon tea will be served.
