The first game in Braidwood for Palerang this season was an impressive display of their football skills. The many supporters who came to watch were treated to a fair and dominant match.
Gungahlin United played a quality game and tested Palerang, but the structure of Palerang’s game shone through, as the home side put seven goals away for the match, against Gungahlin’s one.
First half
The first half was a strong half for Palerang United who scored four goals.
Two were from Nina Garcia, and one each from Emily Hanns and Jemma Dale.
Despite the score line, Gungahlin put in a good effort and tested Palerang’s defence.
A misjudgement late in the half from Palerang’s goal keeper gave Gungahlin a free kick, which they scored off, but this didn’t affect Palerang’s performance at all.
Second half
Palerang United outclassed Gungahlin at every moment during the second half, again showing their strength. Gungahlin should be congratulated on the effort they put in, giving Palerang some strong competition at times.
With three more goals during the latter half, Palerang United proved just why they’ve held top spot for the entire season so far.
Emily Hanns scored one more goal, which gave her two for the match, and Gerogia Garcia two more.
The final score was 7-1 to Palerang.
The large Division Four and Division Five competition is split into two, so Palerang must wait to see who they take on in the next six games to compete for the division four title.
Their next game will be on Sunday July 9.
Goals to Nina Garcia, Georgia Garcia, Emily Hanns and Jemma Dale.
