Alan Jones denies indecent assault allegations

Jones has disputed the allegations through law firm Mark O'Brien Legal saying he "denies ever having indecently assaulted the persons referred to".

The suggestion was "scandalous, grossly offensive and seriously defamatory of him", the lawyer's media statement said.

"In the short time available since publication we have obtained substantial factual information which contradicts and refutes the alleged pattern of conduct by Mr Jones," his lawyer said to this masthead.

The 82-year-old Order of Australia recipient is accused of using his power and influence as a broadcaster to assault young men in an explosive report published in The Sydney Morning Herald on December 7.

The report contained accusations from four men including a former employee at Jones' radio station, a waiter who had served him, a musician and a now-deceased businessman.

Jones retired from radio in 2020 after almost 20 years in his high-profile role at 2GB.

He had formerly worked as an English teacher at The King's School and coach of the Australian rugby union team as well as a speech writer for Malcolm Fraser.
