Local scouts believe they should use the phrase ‘take the out in Scouts’, so on Thursday evening 9th June the Scouts went out of the Scout hall and took a tour of our local Fire Station under the capable direction of Deputy Captain Steve Hockey.
Local leaders recently attended Tai Chi for Arthritis training, which is a falls prevention initiative co-ordinated by Southern NSW Local Health District and delivered across local communities by volunteers. The workshop was held at Batemans Bay, with Dr Paul Lam facilitating the tai chi training. Dr Lam, an Australian family physician, is one of the most experienced and respected tai chi teachers in the world.
Batemans Bay squash club made their way up the mountain to play the top guns of Braidwood’s squash club on Sunday morning with the first games starting at ten. The next five hours was packed with some fantastic squash being played by all grades and Braidwood just getting over the line by one game to win the comp.
Alex Rea Despite being undefeated in their Palerang weekend competition, the Palerang Under 12s didn’t lose heart at the Kanga Cup, even against incredible talented soccer teams from around NSW and ACT. Kanga Cup involves 378 teams and over 4000 kids playing soccer all over Canberra for the first week of the holidays.
Braidwood Open: NEXT SUNDAY, there are still tee times available. THURSDAY please we need all hands on deck to clean up the course ahead of the Open. We are expecting more strong winds this week and there is already a lot of tree debris to be collected, so please bring rakes and gloves and help out 10am Thursday 14th!
