Last week Dracula, his yummy mummy the Countess Wraith and a multitude of vampire brides came to Braidwood’s National Theatre to suck our blood and tickle our bones in Braidwood Central School’s Dracula Spectacula. With a cast of over 40 students and vast array of support from the community the show was a spectacula success playing to large audiences and delighting young and old alike.
There are so many to thank starting with a wonderful cast of Braidwood Central School students from years 5 through to year 10: they are a talented and dedicated bunch of kids. BCS’s Mr Music, Mr Ross Waples did a fantastic job accompanied by Mr Allen on the drums while the choreography was brilliantly done again by Norma Turner. Big thankyous must also go to Kevin Corby and Phil Anderson who built the stage, Damien Roberts and Dave Sargent who built the sets, Natalie Densely, Sue Irving and Fran Ifould who painted them, Kelly Baumann, Sarah Roberts and Judy Scott who dressed and made up the cast, Sarah Sweeney who managed the props, Kate Park who made the curtains, the Bendigo Bank who helped finance the show and the National Theatre Committee who provided the venue. Of course shows don’t happen without stage management so thanks to Ms Jo Parsons. Finally, thanks must also go to BCS’s two terrific Deputy Principal’s Mr Peter Neilsen and Ms Ro Richardson whose commitment was unswerving. Without all these people the show would not have gone on and Braidwood would not have been treated to such a magnificent spectacle.
