Okay, so now day light saving has finished you can get a few extra early morning practice runs in as you prepare for the Braidwood Community Bank Billy Cart Derby (Sunday 4 May). While you may still have to stay alert for the Easter Bunny any confrontation with this bloke will just provide the opportunity to test out that new braking mechanism. You may have recently seen an increase in police activity with the radar gun checking on the coast traffic – while this may have had some residual effect on increasing road safety the prime purpose was for the Police to hone their gear ready for use during the Billy Cart Derby.

Remember this great family day out has something for everyone - young and old. And again this year we will have extra seating this year for spectators! As well as prizes in each race category and local rider bonuses there will be prizes for best dressed driver, best cart design, best stack, best traditional cart (must have rope steering) and best team.
There aren’t many rules – build a cart that meets the specs, present it for scrutineering early on the morning of Sunday 4 May, wear a helmet and come along and enjoy a great family day out.
