Round 6 and the Spiderlings faced up to Goulburn again. This time Goulburn showed up with a secret weapon - a line backer - who kept getting between the ball carrier and the Redback defensive line, disrupting the tag and every so often injuring a Redback defender. Undeterred, the Braidwood defence, led by Zoe Campbell Davies, countered the constant sheparding and with deft footwork tagged solidly.
As in previous weeks, the unstoppable Lexi, Molly, and Mason Dixon excelled in both attack and defence. Sam Bigg was in everything again even demonstrating some fine rucking skills on the Goulburn line backer.
Kaiya Royds becomes more focused by the game and had some good runs. Rosalie Hazell hung in there the whole game, despite landing heavily early on.
Final score was 6 - 3 to the Redbacks.
And the Goulburn line backer? Well, when he got the ball, he promptly dropped it, fell over, was descended upon by the Redbacks and well and truly tagged.

The great enjoyment in coaching rugby is watching the team and individuals develop each week. THe under 8's are starting to put it all together for a fantastic display of rugby. It actually looked like a rugby game instead of a bunch seagulls after a chip. Amy Clarke set the pace of the game with the first try of the match in less than a minute after kick off. There was magnificent stepping and straight running from William Mortimer and Cruz Campbell-Davys, Great defence from William Sullivan and Adelaide Wall really put her body on the line to stop the opposition. But it was hard going and the Brumbies replied twice before half time. Early in the second half Harry Waters showed that he was up for the challenge with a big tackle followed by a near try from a penalty tap, it was just centimetres out. William Mortimer then tried to get the equalizer again being cut down so close to the line. But it was Miss reliable -Amy Clarke who came through with the goods bringing it to two tries a piece with not long to go. Somehow they scored again and the when the hooter rang it was 4 - 2 in a great match. Coaches awards went to Arna Dixon for her continued effort and improved ball carrying, and Harry Waters for his improved performance.

Under 12s
On Friday night the boys walked away with a comfortable win over Crookwell with a final score of 72-10. This result was purely due to the fact that all the boys played absolute textbook rugby. Solid forward attack resulted in good clean ball to the backs who used it to their advantage. Defence was beautiful to watch with everyone making good clean tackles and closing down the opposition in their tracks. Highlights included Kane and Darcy muscling their way over the line for their first points of the season.
Congratulations boys.. Coaches award Todd Hazelton. Lolly shop award Kane Neate. Tries Callum Doyle 3, Harry Jeffery 3, Ned Jeffery 3, Darcy Lyons 1, Kane Neate 1, Todd Hazelton 1. Goals Ned Jeffery 6. Top effort lads!
