Commendatori Antonio Carluccio OBE and his wife Sabine were guests of Kate and Peter Marshall at Terra Preta Truffles at Reidsdale. As the Patron of the Capital Region Truffle Festival, Carluccio had a busy schedule, and was delighted to spend 5 days out of the limelight at the farm, truffle hunting, whittling and cooking with the Marshall family.
The Marshall’s also had the daunting task of cooking for him, but found he was very complimentary of the roast lamb and Pavlova Kate whipped up, as well as other dishes by Gus Marshall.
Refreshed after his quiet week, Carluccio said he really enjoyed beautiful Braidwood and the landscape of the district. He found the Marshall’s truffles to be as good as, if not better than those in Europe, and shared many common passions including mushrooms with the Marshalls.
Carluccio has lived in London for the past 40 years, but said he could well come back to visit Braidwood one day, as he was whisked off to a full diary of appearances in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
