Logan Campbell, the 12-year veteran of Lucio's kitchen who spent the past year in Singapore opening Buttero, has signed as Jonah's new executive chef, replacing Peter Ridland, who recently resigned and had good reviews under his watch.
Campbell says his appointment doesn't mean the restaurant is turning Italian, although there will be pasta dishes and more Italian-inspired fare on Mod Oz menu. Jonah's, where main courses average $48, is also sticking tight with the upper end of Sydney dining. But there will be changes.
"The pricing structure will be the same. The portion sizes are OK, but you'll be getting even more on the plate. When I go to a restaurant I want to leave full," Campbell says. The chef believes the tea house-turned restaurant is Sydney's oldest: "If there is an older one I don't think anyone can remember it."
