The starting time for the games but by the time of the 2nd end the Neligen Doctor arrived at 6-30 the temperature dropped to 25 degrees and at 7-00 p.m. it was a very pleasant weather of 17 degrees.
Most of the teams whether entered as work teams or family teams consist of families with several teams consisting of mainly kids with a family member or friend acting as playing coach which in the ideal weather gave a great atmosphere to a great night of fun.
After 2 weeks Braidwood Rural lead the point score on 4 +14 with the Bunnies which consists of Uncle Jonno and his nieces & nephew or the Bunny kittens on second with 4 + 13 & the Incredibles led by Jayde Tranter on 4 +10.
The team to win the Braidwood Community Banks $200-00 was the Greenhome’s Team. The little two year old Backhouse boy before each bowl rolled by his parents would have to try to bowl first so no doubt Barry & Kerry Backhouse & Stan & Margaret Wisbey have Grand Parent Skiting Rights.
After the game all enjoyed the Sausage Sandwich Cooked by Gorrie Kite & Jan & Barry Broadbent with help from Laurie Riley after he had coached the C.W.A. Team.
Saturday
On Saturday the last semi-final of the 2015 Fours Championship was played Between Jono Bunn’s team of Jungle, Ant Stanley & Steve Piper whose ages added up to 206 years and the Octogenarians team consisting of Frank Stuart, Ron Cooper, Bill George & Barry Jonas whose ages added up to 332 years.
When the possum arrived to watch this much anticipated game the young colts had established a big lead at the end of the 6th end of 10 to 4 but over the next ten ends while the possum was able to watch he witnessed some excellent bowling by both teams.
When he had to depart the old codgers had reduced the lead to 3 being down 16 to 13 after I left the five remaining ends were all won by only one point with the colts winning 4 ends and the gentlemen winning 1 end to the final score being 20 to 14.
Congratulations to all the players on a great game of bowls & we all look forward to a great final against Laurie Riley’s team.
Coming events on the Bowling Calender are two more weeks of Bare-foot Bowls, then on Saturday 5th December, there is the Mixed 2 Bowl Triples Carnival and on Saturday the 19th December, is our Christmas party so make sure you put your name on the list on the notice board so Gorrie can know how big a pig he has to order to put on his rotisserie.
Remember Bowlers are not old they just live longer.
