Member for Monaro John Barilaro has congratulated Christopher on receiving a $10,000 NSW Young Regional Artists Scholarship.
The scholarship will go towards helping Christopher to attend a mentorship program in Copenhagen, Denmark, in robotics and digital media.
“There is so much young artistic talent in this region and it is important that we capture this to help foster the next generation of regional artists,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Chris is an exceptional artist and I am pleased that he has been awarded this grant.
“Supporting arts and culture in regional NSW is a priority under the Government’s new Create in NSW 10-year policy framework built on the ambitions of excellence, access and strength.
“The program will provide 25 $10,000 scholarships each year and I encourage our eligible artists to apply in the 2016 round that opens later this month,” Mr Barilaro said.
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said scholarship recipients will contribute greatly to arts and culture in their communities.
“I am proud the NSW Government has created a program exclusively for regional youth to develop their careers and connect with arts organisations and training opportunities,” Mr Grant said.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals is investing in the next generation of talent to grow their skills and expand their knowledge to take back to regional communities.”
