Approximately 700 Scouts from across NSW attended the Rally, participating in a wide range of activities, such as anti-bullying games and activities, World Scouting activities, art, chariot and catapult building, first aid, emergency shelter building and fire safety.
On Saturday night, Scouts had a choice of watching a movie, going to the disco, rock climbing or horizontal bungee.
Working together in patrols, they earned points participating in these activities. The scouts had to show how well they worked as a patrol, how well the Patrol Leader worked with their patrol, their attitude, and their enthusiasm during all the activities. The also had to keep their tents and campsite clean and know how nutritional their menu plans were.
1st Braidwood Scouts combined with 1st Bungendore Scouts to form a patrol and we are proud to announce that this patrol came second in the Region (South Coast and Tablelands).
It was a great effort, well done to Charlie, Joshua (from 1st Braidwood), Tegan, James and Edgar. They can all go back to their Scout Groups and pass on the skills and knowledge that they have learned during this camp.
Thank you to Mal (Kaa) from Braidwood and Sandi (Chil) from Bungendore for taking our Scouts, supporting them and bringing them home.
The Cub Scouts meet on Thursday evening from 6:15 to 7:45pm and the Scouts meet on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the hall in Coghill St.
Our Group Committee meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm at the hall, anyone interested in the Scouts is welcome. Leadership is voluntary but has great rewards, seeing the youth grow from little kids into young responsible adults.
If you would like to participate in activities like these, then feel free to contact our Group Leader, Laurie Joyce for more information, on 4842 8144 and don’t forget to Like us on Facebook.
