The team held its presentation evening on Friday night at the Servicemen’s Club.
Awards went to Tamika Murphy, Matilda Corby and Laura King for Best and Fairest, Players’ Player and Coaches’ Player.
Two members, Murphy and Courtney Doyle, were selected for the Brumbies train-on squad, with Murphy selected for the Indigenous Representative Sevens side that competed at nationals.
The team’s top try scorer was Melissa Knight.
The full squad included: Jess Channings, Melissa Knight, Laura King, Katie Tooth, Liv Laurie, Tauz Laurie, Hayley Quill, Courtney Doyle, Matilda Corby, Georgia Toirkens, Monique Dheurle, Tamika Murphy, Jaimee White, Cheyanne Whitmore, and Charlotte Horan.
George Sheriff was coach, with assistant coaches Nick Black and Tom Watson and team manager Nick Pengelly. Major sponsors were Braidwood Community Bank and Canberra’s Nova Systems.
The Black Widows will be looking to putting a team into the 15-a-side Canberra women’s competition next season.
