It has been three years of supporting new enterprises and offering the local community and passers-by healthy local produce and adding to the diversity of the town.

As always with these successful ventures there is a quite dedicated group who selflessly put in a large amount of effort to make this a success, and are left tidying up after us stallholders have packed up and left.

Remember earlier in the year when it suddenly became urgent for Land Services to save Monkittee Creek from the willows?

They said that the willows caused floods and erosion and just had to go.

We were promised  an improved environment with native trees and a healthier river.

Now we have unshaded heated water, unprotected banks, Central American feral fish and 2000 dead tubestock.

It’s not the first time: Flood Creek, Monkittee Park, ‘The Bank Job’ – $100K  of taxpayers money with nothing good to show for it.

Such money could have turned Flood Creek into a world class arboretum and tourist attraction. Instead we got ivy, privet, box elder and European wasps.

Does LLS not have a procedure for assessing and learning from its projects?
