All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small: that was the Gunning Show in 2017 as the town came together with visitors, finding comfort in community after the recent loss of loved Show and ‘Flock Ewe’ competition regulars, the Basnetts.

The Show committee and friends had taken a quiet, private moment to remember Oolong locals Andrew and Anne Basnett on the Saturday evening prior.
The Flock Ewe competition was cancelled in respect.
Competitions such as sheep shearing time trials, dog pedigree parades and equestrian eventing went ahead as competitors had travelled from far afield to be there.

The Pavilion was buzzing with activity, as was the canteen serving delicious country summer dishes, and the sideshow and rides pulled children to them.
