The Braidwood Team Sorting Committee held a successful weekend of sorting at the Braidwood Showgrounds last weekend. Competition times and scores were close throughout the 490 runs held over Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday
Open
Scores were close in the open category on Saturday. First place went to Ben Lee and Adam Derwent, with a time of 1.13.72 seconds, while second place was taken by Joan Bunt and Pauline Parkhurst, just marginally slower with a time of 1.14.00. Third place went to Pauline Parkhurst and Neville Shoemark at 1.15.63.
The men’s highpoint award, for the most cattle sorted on the day, went to Neville Shoemark, with 30 head for the day. Kate Skelly, who sorted 27 head on Saturday, received the women’s award.
Juniors
Michael Jeffree and Zoe Roberts took first place in the Juniors division, with a time of 35.66 seconds. In second place were Hollly Rapley and Rachel Polsen with a time of 36.62. In third Jordyn Primmer and Jessie Fox with a very respectable 38.31.
Sunday
Open
The clear winners for Sunday were Joan and Neville Bunt, with a time of 1.11.81. In second and third place were Phil Syphers and Drew Stanton at 1.17.31 with Len Hodgson and Tyla Harris coming in close behind at 11.17.37.
Adam Derwent and Tyla Harris took the Men’s and Women’s Highpoint for the Sunday, each sorting 30 head of cattle during the day.
Juniors
Cooper and Charlotte Izzard took first on Sunday for the juniors, coming in at 27.72, more than 10 seconds faster than Declan Roberts and Julie Porter, who took second with 39.00. Cooper Izzard and Coby Andrews were a close third at 39.18.
Awards
The efforts of Chloe Dowling and Charlotte Callinan were rewarded, with Children’s Awards. Miss Dowling received an encouragment award and Miss Callinan an appreciation award.
