Defeat for rugby players

Saturday saw the first hit out for the Redbacks against the Gungahlin Eagles at a soggy Braidwood Recreation Ground. The Redbacks, who re-entered the competition after a year hiatus, where gallant in defeat going down by 14-12 in a game they led for 77 minutes. Second Rower Mitchell Gough opened the scoring with a fine individual try in the opening quarter which was converted by Tommy Watson. Gungahlin tied up the score just before halftime with a converted try on the back of some prolong intense defending by the Redbacks.
