Both pools are well loved by their community. Two-hundred and ninety-five Braidwood residents, and 105 Captains Flat residents, purchased season passes to their pool for the past season.
Built in 1966 and 1953 respectively, the pools’ infrastructure is in desperate need of an upgrade. The full extent of works needed, will not be known until underground works begin.
Council hopes that a further $400,000 will go to the pools, from its application to the Building Better Regions Fund, which is a federal initiative.
Council staff are building a prioritised schedule of works, tiered to align with funding possibilities.
