Junior soccer stars shine

It was a though we had a different team from to last Saturday, when the Under 12s played the Monaro Panthers at Jerrabomberra this weekend.

All of our kids played above expectations and demonstrated that wanting the ball was their first priority. The Monaro Panthers have always been known as a top shelf team, and they certainly didn’t hold back against our mid and back lines. It was these areas, however, that our team rose to the top, holding forth with a strong defensive wall throughout the game.

It just goes to show that if you persist on marking players and never stop attacking for ball possession it does pay off.

Hunter, Fergus and Brodie played back to help our backs which was a big help holding back some quick goals. Laynee, Sky and Bonnie stepped it up this week exercising their full potential for hassling constantly.

Hughie charged in just at the right time to save some quick breakthroughs from Monaro.

Our front line worked a lot better together this weekend. The wings and mids communicated well, pushing the ball forward, wide, and then to the middle, to create countless opportunities at the goals.

The score reflected our huge improvement, with a 3-all draw. Isabelle Hindmarsh, Brodie Parsons and Nelson Seargant all scored goals for the team.

Well done guys for bringing it this weekend, you should be very pleased with your efforts.
