Rural and Remote Medical Services (RaRMS), the organisation which manages the Medical Centre thanked Dr Dahal for her time working in Braidwood.
“It’s not uncommon for the career of a medical practitioner these days to take several different directions, and we would like to wish Dr Dahal every success in future. RaRMS would like to acknowledge the contribution Dr Dahal has made in Braidwood since she started with us in January this year” said Shane Hatton, CEO of RaRMS.
RaRMS has been able to reach agreement with another GP, Dr John Sullivan who will begin work at the centre in July.
Dr Sullivan has completed his GP training and the relevant requirements to be recognised as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. His special interests include men's health, skin cancer medicine and chronic disease management but he has broad experience in all areas of general practice.
Mr Hatton said, “We are thrilled to have secured thee services of Dr Sullivan for the Braidwood Community.”
“Dr Sullivan studied medicine at the Australian National University in Canberra, before completing his GP training over the last few years. He has also indicated a willingness to provide on-call VMO services at the Braidwood MPS, so this is a huge coup for Braidwood.”
Dr Sullivan said he was eager to begin work in Braidwood.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Braidwood Medical Centre and I am grateful to have been offered the position by RaRMS. I have a real interest in rural practice and hope to make a valuable contribution to the health care of the Braidwood community” he said.
Dr Dahal will finish work in Braidwood on Wednesday June 28. Dr Sullivan will begin at the Medical Centre on July 3.
