Braidwood Campdraft Final Results

Results wrap up for the Braidwood Campdraft are as follows: Encouragement One was won by Bec Dowton on Gypsy from Cooma with local Colin (Tom) Tetley placing 6th on Gypsy. In the 2nd Encouragement First place went to Ella Williams on Cruze (South Coast). Winner of the 3rd Encouragement was Troy Madden on Acres of Action (Taralga) with local Wade Sephton placing =3rd. The 4th Encouragement was won by Melanie Austin on Kardinia Goomeri (SA).

The Ladies was well attended with Leah Whitehead taking home the blue ribbon on her horse Gigolo. Fridays Open for Open was won by Illabo resident Simon Dodwell on his horse Tasso’s Diva with Braidwood local Ian Laurie coming in = 5th on Catwoman. Saturdays Landmark Harry Collett Open was very competitive with two rounds and then a final. Coming up trumps was Googong resident Steve Hart riding Kea. Over 270 entries were taken for Saturdays Novice with the final victor being Greg Hulm from Wagga Wagga riding Catwalk.

Sunday’s drafting begun with the Maiden One. Lenny Madden (Goulburn) riding Acres of Aces took out the top spot. In the 2nd maiden Bill Peadon from Bibbenluke rode Kydra’s Obediah to first place with locals Elizabeth Krijnen and Terry Laurie not far behind. In the Juniors local lass, Lucy Baumann – Lionet rode to victory on Foxy and also took out third place with Blondie. Zeb Pearce rode Quest to take first place in the Juveniles with local lad Joel Clarke not far away in third place on his horse Cash.

For the last draft on the program, the Novice for Novice, Simon Dodwell on Cut em Loose took home the money.

Braidwood Campdraft club would to thank Landmark Daniel and Walker for the use of the Saleyards and back paddock, Fay Griggs for scanning, Bob Laurie of R N & R K Laurie transport for cattle cartage and Joel Bradley of Braidwood Earth Moving for the water truck.
