The Channel Nine reporter's daughter, journalist Claire Harvey, thanked everyone for their support after her father was admitted to hospital this week.
"Thank you to everyone for your amazingly kind messages to Dad. He is getting great care in hospital. @harves60 @BenFordham #weloveharves," she tweeted.
In October, the 68-year-old Walkley Award-winning reporter revealed he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after falling ill on a trip to Italy.
At the time of his diagnosis, an upbeat Harvey said that highlight of his overseas trip was a "speedboat ride to Venice hospital! And back again of course!"
"Pardon the pun, but you can't cop this one lying down," Harvey said at the time. "You have to get up and fight it. I have no intention of going anywhere yet."
Well wishes were pouring in on social media on Monday night, where the hashtag #weloveharves was trending on Twitter.
"Thinking of our mate Peter Harvey @harves60 who's not in the best shape at present. Feel free to send him hugs and high fives #weloveharves," tweeted Channel Nine journalist and radio host Ben Fordham.
